Interactive eBooks Now Available!

The Providence School Library has added thirty interactive eBooks to our library collection.  The books were purchased with grant monies from the Huntsville Council of PTAs.  These eBooks are on a variety of reading levels, with Accelerated Reading reading quizzes available for each book.  The eBooks may be accessed on any internet capable device, such as a laptop, mobile phone, or tablet.

To access these eBooks, go to our library's online patron access catalog (OPAC) and click on the media search button located at the top left corner.  Select the eBook icon and click on the Search button.  A list of available eBooks will show in your search results.

Book Fair Arrives Soon!

Our annual fall book fair will be arriving soon!  This year, our book fair will be November 5 - November 9.  Our book fair is the largest fundraiser for our library media center.  With the book fair profits, our library can purchase supplies such as book tape, glue, bookmarks, and library folders, new library-bound books, eBooks, and hardware such as LCD projectors, document cameras, etc.  To have a successful fair, we need at least four parent volunteers work session per day.  Sessions run from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.  Parent volunteers act as cashiers and help our students make smart choices and stay within their book fair budgets.  All parent volunteers will receive a $5 credit toward their book fair purchases as a thank you for their service.  Please consider volunteering our library media center at the book fair!

Library Media Center Opens This Week

After a one week delay, our library media center will open on Monday, September 10 for student check out.  Our staff is very excited about having our students in to check out books and audiobooks.  Kindergarten students will learn class procedures and have story time on Monday.  Our story this week is Beverly Billingsly Borrows a Book by Alexander Stadler.  On Tuesday, second grade students will have a procedures slide show, learn about our "Book camp:  Train Your Brain" reading promotion, and have The Library Lion by Michelle Knudsen read to them.  Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will bring STAR Reading Testing to our students.
